What do the different procedures involve?

Invisalign®

Invisalign® uses clear, almost invisible, aligners to straighten teeth that are misaligned or have gaps. Following an initial appointment, patients are assessed and advised on the most suitable method for them.

3D simulation is used to create a treatment plan that is customised for you – and you can even see what the end result will look like in advance. Once you have decided to go ahead, a series of aligners are made which are worn daily. The aligners slowly move your teeth to the correct position and are changed at regular intervals.

The clear aligners are made to be an exact fit for your teeth and gums. Your dentist will check every 4-6 weeks to see that the right amount of progress is being made.

How long will I need to wear the aligners?

It can take up to about 12 months to complete the treatment, but it does depend on each individual case and the extent of movement that is needed. Retainers are then worn at night to maintain your beautiful new smile.

Six Month Smiles

Six Month Smiles is an efficient orthodontic solution to give you the look you want in an average time of just six months.

The system is designed for adults with misaligned teeth or teeth with gaps and uses brackets and wires. It is gentle and discreet, using clear brackets and tooth-coloured wires.

What steps are involved?

Following a consultation to assess suitability, impressions are taken and the brackets and wires are created. The braces are adjusted every 5-6 weeks over six months and the number of times depends on each individual case. A retainer is worn at night following the treatment so that your newly positioned teeth stay in place.

Inman Aligner™

What is an Inman Aligner™?

It is a removable appliance that helps to align or straighten front teeth quickly and most cases are completed in 6-18 weeks.

How does it work?

Nickel-titanium coil springs squeeze two aligner bows on the front teeth that work to straighten the teeth. Impressions are made so that a customised Inman Aligner™ can be made.

After an initial fitting, you then wear the aligner for 16-20 hours each day with a check every few weeks. As with all the other orthodontic straightening methods, the key to maintain your new smile is to wear a retainer once the treatment is complete
